Regular Season Round 1: Illawarra H. - Maitland M. 56-80

Date: March 29, 2025
But Hawks were not able to use a home court advantage and were outscored by the opponent from Maitland 80-56 on Saturday night. American forward Sydney Hunter (183-1999, college: San Diego) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and forward Shakera Reilly (178-1999) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ella Dent (170-2002) came up with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and guard Asha Phillips (180-2004, college: Idaho) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Illawarra H. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mustangs will meet at home Albury in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hawks will play against Sydney C. in Alexandria and hope to win that game.
