Regular Season Round 1: Casey C. - Dandenong R. 56-98

Date: March 29, 2025
There was a minor upset when Cavaliers were outleveled by Rangers in Cranbourne 98-56 on Saturday. Dandenong R. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Cavaliers's 24 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Dandenong R. forced 20 Casey turnovers. Point guard Dallas Loughridge (167-2004) nailed 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American guard Amber Smith (180-1998, college: Missouri) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rangers players scored in double figures. New Zealand forward Esra McGoldrick (188-1999, college: NC State) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jaden Owens (170, college: TCU) added 12 points respectively for Casey in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rangers will meet at home Eltham W. in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cavaliers will play against Hobart C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
