Regular Season Round 3: Blackburn - Bellarine 83-75

Date: April 12, 2025
There was a small surprise in Melbourne where Vikings (1-3) defeated Storm (2-2) 83-75 on Saturday. Strangely Bellarine outrebounded Blackburn 50-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Elijah Davy who scored 22 points and 5 assists. American Anthony Kimble (196-1987, college: GSU) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Worth to mention Kimble played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Vikings' coach Matthew Brooks used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Kerry Richardson (202-1999, college: Morehouse, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Malik McKinney (190, college: West Liberty) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Vikings will meet at home McKinnon (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Storm will play against Keysborough where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
