Very important is a home loss of third rankedHawks (2-1) against top-ranked Redbacks (2-0) on Thursday night. Host Hawks were defeated by Redbacks in a tough game in Floreat 91-96 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hawks. Perth R. shot 30 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Perry Lakes H. only scored twelve points from the stripe. Perth R. forced 31 Perry Lakes H. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Anneli Maley (185-1998, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds and American guard Natalie Chou (185-1997, college: UCLA) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her thirteen free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side forward Alexandra Fowler (188-2001, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Samantha Whitcomb (178-1988, college: Washington) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hawks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perth R. moved-up to third place. Loser Hawks dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
