No shocking result in a game in Maitland where fifth rankedMustangs (4-1) won against bottom-ranked Spiders (0-4) 106-95 on Friday. Maitland dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Spiders ' 40. Maitland forced 26 HKBA Spiders turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Billy Parsons (198-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American Mandrell Worthy (191-1996, college: Azusa Pacific) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Worth to mention Worthy played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Forward Daniel Titus (203-2000, college: Coppin St.) produced 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Mohamed Kone (188, college: Bemidji St.) added 16 points and 10 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mustangs have a solid series of four victories in a row. Maitland moved-up to second place, which they share with Mandurah and Sutherland. HKBA Spiders at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost.
