Regular Season Round 5: Launceston T. - Keilor T. 66-89
Date: April 26, 2025
Everything went according to plan when third rankedThunder (6-1) outplayed bottom-ranked Tornadoes (0-7) in Launceston 89-66 on Saturday. The former international point guard Maddison Rocci (169-1998) nailed 27 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and center Madeline Puli (186-2000) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. The former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Megan Mullings (185-1992, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Launceston T. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Thunder . Keilor T. moved-up to second place. Launceston T. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Keilor T. will meet at home Nunawading S. (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Launceston T. will play against Ballarat M. (#11) in Wendouree and hopes to get finally their first victory.
