No shocking result in a game in Melbourne where fifth rankedCougars (4-1) smashed 10th ranked Vikings (1-4) 97-48 on Saturday. McKinnon outrebounded Blackburn 45-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. McKinnon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Shaquille Maharaj (196-1997, college: Camosun) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Lithuanian swingman Remo Simankevicius (198-1996, college: SNHU) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Athiaan Manyiel (201, college: LSUE) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Alex Kanellis scored 2 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cougars have a solid four-game winning streak. McKinnon moved-up to second place, which they share with Keysborough. Loser Vikings keeps the tenth position with four games lost.
