There was a surprise result in Heathmont where sixteenth rankedRingwood Hawks (3-4) outleveled one of their biggest challengers Pioneers (5-3) 118-88 on Saturday. Ringwood made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Angus Glover (192-1998) scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Maltese forward Joshua Tomasi (208-2000, college: St.Cloud St.) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Ringwood Hawks' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Joseph Palmer (193-2001, college: Colorado St., agency: Warren Sports International) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Kaden Archie (198-2000, college: Georgia South) scored 18 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Ringwood and four Mt.Gambier players scored in double figures. Ringwood moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 8 other teams. Loser Pioneers dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Bendigo.
