There was a minor upset in Seaford where 4th rankedPioneers (5-3) were defeated by seventh ranked Blues (5-2) 115-100 on Sunday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Frankston B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. New Zealand forward Taane Samuel (200-1999) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Michael Harris (193-1999) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Blues' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Akech Aliir (204-2000) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Alexander Mudronja (196-1999, college: SMC) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Blues have a solid three-game winning streak. Frankston B. moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Pioneers dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Bendigo.
