There was a small surprise when eighteenth rankedChargers (3-6) defeated 15th ranked Lady Braves (2-6) in Bendigo 84-73 on Sunday. Hobart C. made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hobart C. made 7 blocks. Power forward Tayla Roberts (191-1993) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Sharna Thompson supported her with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Chargers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds by American forward TaiSheka Porchia (185, college: Troy) did not help to save the game for Bendigo . Her fellow American import guard Mikayla Pivec (178-1997, college: Oregon St.) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Lady Braves' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hobart C. moved-up to fourteenth place. Bendigo lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Kilsyth and Mt Gambier.
