There was no surprise in Crows Nest where 12th rankedPanthers (3-6) were defeated by leader North Bears (8-0) 94-77 on Saturday. Strangely Penrith outrebounded Norths B. 47-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Carla Pitman (180-2004) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Madeleine OHehir (179-1997) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Five North Bears players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 21 rebounds and American-Swiss forward Mia Heide (190-2000, college: Duke) added 19 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Panthers' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. North Bears have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Norths B. maintains first place with 8-0 record, which they share with Newcastle F. and Geelong U. Penrith lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
