The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-rankedSuns ' (0-7) home loss to twelfth ranked Slammers (2-7) in Kalamunda 73-83 on Saturday. SW Slammers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Suns 's 28. SW Slammers forced 22 Kalamunda ES turnovers and had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. SW Slammers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by guard Kate Fielding (176-1986) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Mykea Gray (163-1998, college: Miami, FL) supported her with 18 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by guard Alyssa Bowen did not help to save the game for Kalamunda ES . Guard Emma Strelein (180, college: Portland) added 17 points and 5 steals for the hosts. Five SW Slammers and four Kalamunda ES players scored in double figures. Suns' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. SW Slammers maintains twelfth position with 2-7 record, which they share with Hills H. and Illawarra H. Loser Suns still closes the standings with seven games lost.
