Everything went according to plan when top-rankedMeteorettes (4-0) defeated 5th ranked Wizards (2-2) in Taigum 107-101 on Sunday. Mackay dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Wizards 's 40. Mackay looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and forward Monique Bobongie (178-2006) supported her with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 44 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) did not help to save the game for Northside W. . Alice ODriscoll added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Meteorettes have a solid four-game winning streak. Mackay keeps a position of league leader, which they share with SD Spartans. Loser Wizards keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Townsville F. and Cairns D..
