Regular Season Round 7: Sherbrooke S. - Bulleen B. 64-73

Date: May 18, 2025
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Suns (7-3) against fourth ranked Boomers (7-2) on Sunday night. Host Suns were defeated by Boomers in a tough game in Upwey 64-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Suns. Bulleen looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Amy Baum (170, college: USF) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Catelyn Van Es accounted for 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Tenaya Sooalo added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Sherbrooke S. in the defeat. Suns' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Boomers have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Bulleen moved-up to third place. Loser Suns dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Bulleen will meet Wyndham D. (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sherbrooke S. will play against Hume City B. (#6) in Tullamarine and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
