Regular Season Round 9: Sydney C. - BA CoE 74-85

Date: May 24, 2025
Not a big story in a game in Alexandria where 9th ranked Comets (4-6) were defeated by third ranked BA CoE (10-2) 85-74 on Saturday. BA CoE forced 20 Sydney C. turnovers. Forward Sitaya Fagan (189-2008) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Isabel Smith chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Four BA CoE players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Abigail Curtin (185-1997, college: Denver) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Piper Anderson (180-2003) scored 26 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). BA CoE have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 10-2 record having just two point less than leader W.Adelaide B. Loser Comets dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Canberra N.. BA CoE will meet at home Sutherland (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sydney C. will play against Hills H. (#14) in Baulkham Hills and hope to secure a win.
