Regular Season Round 8: Keysborough - McKinnon 91-89

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Big V took place in Keysborough. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd rankedCougars (7-3) to first ranked Cougars (9-1) 91-89 on Saturday evening. Keysborough outrebounded McKinnon 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward Benjamin Okhotin (198-1999, college: PLNU, agency: Warren Sports International) contributed with 34 points (!!!) for the winners. Cougars' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Mitchell Barry (190) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Shaquille Maharaj (196-1997, college: Camosun) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for McKinnon. Five McKinnon players scored in double figures. Cougars have an impressive six-game winning streak. Keysborough maintains first position with 9-1 record. McKinnon at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
