Everything went according to plan in Wendouree where twelfth rankedMount Gambier Pioneers (5-7) outleveled 14th ranked Ballarat Miners (3-8) 100-56 on Saturday. Mt Gambier looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Isabella Brancatisano (170-1995) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Haliegh Reinoehl (188-1998, college: Akron) chipped in 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Mount Gambier Pioneers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Abigail Wehrung (177-1995) with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Opal Bird (189-2006) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mt Gambier maintains twelfth place with 5-7 record.
