There was no surprise in Bendigo where 17th rankedLady Braves (3-10) were crushed by twelfth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (5-7) 79-49 on Sunday. Mt Gambier forced 20 Bendigo turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. Mt Gambier looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Haliegh Reinoehl (188-1998, college: Akron) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and guard Isabella Brancatisano (170-1995) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Cassidy McLean (178-1999) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward TaiSheka Porchia (185, college: Troy) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Mt Gambier maintains twelfth place with 5-7 record. Loser Lady Braves keeps the seventeenth position with ten games lost.
