Regular Season Round 10: Bendigo LB - Ballarat M. 60-66

No shocking result in a game when fifteenth ranked Ballarat Miners (4-8) beat 17th ranked Lady Braves (3-11) in Bendigo 66-60 on Saturday. Ballarat M. forced 21 Bendigo turnovers. Swingman Micah Simpson (175-2002) notched 17 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Georgia Woolley (183-2002, college: Syracuse) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ballarat Miners players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds by American forward TaiSheka Porchia (185, college: Troy) did not help to save the game for Bendigo. Forward Cassidy McLean (178-1999) added 17 points and 5 steals for lost side. Ballarat M. moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Sutherland and Casey. Loser Lady Braves keeps the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Ballarat M. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bendigo will play against Kilsyth (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
