There was no surprise in Taigum where 8th rankedWizards (3-5) were defeated by fifth ranked Sunshine CP (5-3) 73-56 on Saturday. SC Phoenix forced 21 Northside W. turnovers and outrebounded them 55-37 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SC Phoenix made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Shannon Ryan (193-1997, college: St.Anselm) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Erin Bollmann (180-1994, college: SEMO) who added 14 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Sunshine CP players scored in double figures. Sunshine CP's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Saskia Gunness with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Cierra Walker (173-1998, college: Gonzaga) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. SC Phoenix moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cairns D. Loser Wizards dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
