Regular Season Round 12: BA CoE - Newcastle F. 86-80

Date: June 14, 2025
No shocking result in a game in Canberra where first ranked Excellence (13-3) defeated 6th ranked Falcons (6-7) 86-80 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alexander Dickeson (191-2007) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and center James Merwe (209-2007) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Myles Cherry (203-1998, college: Lafayette) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard EJ Stephens (190-1999, college: Minnesota) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Newcastle F. players scored in double figures. Falcons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Excellence have a solid four-game winning streak. BA CoE maintains first position with 13-3 record. Loser Falcons keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. BA CoE will meet at home Cent.Coast C. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Newcastle F. will play against Penrith and hope to secure a win.
