Regular Season Round 12: Melbourne - Hobart C. 104-74

Date: June 15, 2025
Not a big story in a game in Melbourne where 15th ranked Chargers (4-11) were outplayed by eighth ranked Boomers (8-6) 104-74 on Sunday. Melbourne outrebounded Hobart C. 42-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Melbourne looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Sara Blicavs (189-1993) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Isobel Borlase (180-2004) who added 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Boomers' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Tayla Roberts (191-1993) with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks and Austrian-British forward Ellie Collins (183-1998) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Melbourne maintains eighth position with 8-6 record. Hobart C. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Kilsyth. Melbourne will meet Mt Gambier (#12) on the road in the next round. Hobart C. will play against Knox R. and hope to secure a win.
