There was no surprise when 9th ranked Sabres (7-8) were outleveled by fourth ranked Rangers (11-4) in Dandenong 108-73 on Saturday. Dandenong R. forced 22 Sandringham S. turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dandenong R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Nyadiew Puoch (189-2004) nailed a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and point guard Dallas Loughridge (167-2004) accounted for 19 points and 12 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Guard Haylee Andrews (178-2000, college: Portland) came up with 14 points and 6 assists and the former international Madison Ryan (185-2009) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Sandringham S. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rangers have a solid series of four victories in a row. Dandenong R. moved-up to third place, which they share with Perth R. Loser Sabres dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Nunawading S. and Canberra N.. Dandenong R. will meet at home Frankston B. (#7) in the next round. Sandringham S. will play against Ballarat M. in Wendouree and hope to secure a win.
