Very expected game when 5th rankedEagles (8-5) were smashed by leader Cougars (14-0) in Hamilton Hill 107-72 on Saturday. Cockburn dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles 's 36. Cockburn forced 22 East Perth E. turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cockburn looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by East Perth E. 's players. Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) nailed a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and New Zealand-Israeli forward Danielle Raber (183-1996) accounted for 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. New Zealand guard Awatea Leach (173-1999, college: Collin CC) came up with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Sasha Goodlett (195-1990, college: Georgia Tech, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for East Perth E. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cougars have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Cockburn maintains first place with 14-0 record. Loser Eagles keeps the fifth position with five games lost.
