Date: June 29, 2025
The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth rankedMiners ' (10-7) road victory over 9th ranked Ringwood Hawks (9-9) 102-61 on Sunday. Ballarat M. outrebounded Ringwood 46-29 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ballarat M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Ringwood 's players. The best player for the winners was guard Nicholas Stoddart (188-2000) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Sudanese power forward Majok Majok (210-1992, college: Ball St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Five Miners players scored in double figures. Forward Matthew Fennell (196-1987) produced 8 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ballarat M. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Casey. Loser Ringwood Hawks dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Ballarat M. will meet at home Kilsyth C. (#7) in the next round. Ringwood will play against the league's second-placed Melbourne T. (#2) and hope to secure a win.
