Regular Season Round 15: Dandenong R. - Casey C. 75-80

There was a surprise result in Dandenong where tenth ranked Cavaliers (9-11) defeated higher ranked Rangers (14-6) 80-75 on Saturday. Casey made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. Casey had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for New Zealand forward Sharne Robati (180-2001) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American guard Jaden Owens (170, college: TCU) helped adding 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Cavaliers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Dallas Loughridge (167-2004) with 32 points and 4 assists and swingman Georgia Booth (174-2003) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Cavaliers. Despite that victory Casey went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Loser Rangers dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Waverley F.. Casey will meet league's leader Geelong U. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dandenong R. will play against Ballarat M. in Wendouree and hope to secure a win.
