Very expected game in Geelong where 8th ranked Frankston Blues (12-8) were defeated by leader United (20-0) 80-62 on Saturday. It was a great evening for power forward Gemma Potter (182-2002) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Taylor Mole (188, college: UCSB) helped adding 23 points. Five United players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Spanish guard Marta Hermida (180-1997, college: Boise St.) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The victory was the twentieth consecutive win for United. Geelong U. maintains first place with 20-0 record. Loser Frankston Blues dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Melbourne. Geelong U. will meet at home Casey (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Frankston B. will play against Hobart C. (#16) and hope to secure a win.
