There was no surprise in Bellarine where 10th ranked Storm (5-12) was edged by sixth ranked Gators (9-8) 78-75 on Saturday. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Ryan Batte (198-1999, college: Thomas More) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Bryce Brown (203, college: Lindsey Wilson) chipped in 6 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Kerry Richardson (202-1999, college: Morehouse, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and guard Malik McKinney (190, college: West Liberty) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Shepparton maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Loser Storm keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Shepparton will meet at home Camberwell (#8) in the next round. Bellarine will play against McKinnon and hope to secure a win.
