The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd rankedMeteorettes ' (9-4) home loss to second ranked Thunder (11-1) in Mackay 66-87 on Friday. Logan T. dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Meteorettes 's 24 and made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Logan T. forced 27 Mackay turnovers. The winners were led by American Leah Scott (183-1993, college: Marshall) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and point guard Mikhaela Cann (173-1994) supported her with 22 points. Even a double-double of 26 points and 22 rebounds by American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) did not help to save the game for Mackay . Cheyenne Bobongie added 12 points and 6 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Logan T. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with SD Spartans. Loser Meteorettes keeps the third place with four games lost.
