Regular Season Round 16: Mt Gambier - Bendigo LB 65-68

There was a surprise result when nineteenth ranked Lady Braves (4-17) edged higher ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (6-15) in Mt Gambier 68-65 on Friday. Bendigo made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. The winners were led by forward Cassidy McLean (178-1999) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American forward TaiSheka Porchia (185, college: Troy) supported her with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 20 rebounds by guard Isabella Brancatisano (170-1995) did not help to save the game for Mt Gambier. American guard Mackenzie Burke (173, college: Molloy) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Bendigo moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Launceston T. Mt Gambier lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Bendigo will meet higher ranked Sandringham S. (#10) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mt Gambier will play against Frankston B. (#8) and hope to secure a win.
