The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-rankedStorm (16-3) in McKinnon on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Cougars (13-5) 74-69 . It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Storm. Megan Cooper scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Emily Lytle (180-1997, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Cougars' coach Nathan Geer used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Courtney Strait (180-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and Chantelle Hall produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Bellarine players scored in double figures. Cougars have an impressive seven-game winning streak. McKinnon C. maintains third position with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Bellarine, which they share with Bulleen. Bellarine at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost.
