There was a minor upset when 7th rankedFlames (7-10) lost to ninth ranked Lions (3-14) in Gawler 76-87 on Saturday. C.Districts L. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Flames 's 30. C.Districts L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by forward Tiahna Sears (178-1999, college: N.Alabama) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Claire-Maree Hunt supported her with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lions players scored in double figures. Even 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by American guard Amanda Paschal (172-1996, college: Kentucky) did not help to save the game for Norwood F. . Sophie Kerridge added 13 points and 6 assists for lost side. Flames' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. C.Districts L. maintains ninth position with 3-14 record, which they share with Goldfields G. Loser Flames keeps the seventh place with ten games lost.
