Not a big story in a game when 17th rankedTornadoes (4-17) were outscored by eleventh ranked Sabres (10-10) in Cheltenham 106-86 on Saturday. Sandringham S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The winners were led by guard Haylee Andrews (178-2000, college: Portland) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists and naturalized Turkish guard Funda Nakkasoglu (173-1995, college: Florida) supported her with 22 points. Sabres' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by swingman Shelby Rayner (188, college: TAMUK) did not help to save the game for Launceston T. . The former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Five Sandringham S. and four Launceston T. players scored in double figures. Sandringham S. moved-up to tenth place. Loser Tornadoes dropped to the eighteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Bendigo.
