Regular Season Round 16: Northside W. - SD Spartans 87-95

There was a minor upset in Taigum where 6th rankedWizards (6-7) were defeated by ninth ranked Spartans (6-6) 95-87 on Saturday. SD Spartans outrebounded Northside W. 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. SD Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tamuri Wigness (184-2002) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and forward Blake Jones (208-2002, college: CS Monterey) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Jed Richardson (-2003) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Tyler Williams (196-1996, college: San Diego) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wizards' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SD Spartans moved-up to sixth place, which they share with SW Metro P. Northside W. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost.
