There was a minor upset in Perth where much higher rankedSenators (14-4) were crushed by fourth ranked Buccaneers (14-4) 118-98 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Geraldton B. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Senators 's 38 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Geraldton B. outrebounded Warwick S. 42-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Geraldton B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Johny Narkle (199-2001) who added 22 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Keyes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side the former international guard Elijah Pepper (193-2001, college: UC Davis) responded with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Todd Withers (202-1996, college: Queens, NC) scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Five Geraldton B. and four Warwick S. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Buccaneers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Geraldton B. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Warwick S. and BA CoE.
