Regular Season Round 17: Sutherland S. - Inner WB 110-102

There was a small surprise in Sutherland where thirteenth ranked Sharks (8-12) defeated 10th ranked Bulls (9-11) 110-102 on Friday. Sutherland made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Lauren Nicholson (183-1993, college: SMC) who had a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Madeleine Norris (188-1998) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Naturalized New Zealand guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) produced a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and Taiwanese center Chieh Ou (180-1995) added 29 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sutherland moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Sydney C. Inner WB lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Canberra N.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
