Regular Season Round 17: Diamond VE - Nunawading S. 90-84

Everything went according to plan in Greensborough where sixth rankedDiamond Valley Eagles (14-8) beat 12th ranked Spectres (10-12) 90-84 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Nunawading S. outrebounded Diamond VE 41-29 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Diamond VE looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Carly Turner (183-1995, college: SMC) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Erin Riley (180, college: Keiser) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. Forward Shaneice Swain (175-2003) produced 28 points and guard Isabel Feller (180, college: SDCC) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Spectres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Diamond VE maintains sixth place with 14-8 record, which they share with Frankston B. Loser Spectres keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
