Regular Season Round 17: Melbourne - Casey C. 79-86

There was a minor upset in Melbourne where 8th ranked Boomers (12-10) were defeated by eleventh ranked Cavaliers (11-11) 86-79 on Friday. Casey looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Ahlise Hurst (175-2000, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 25 points. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) produced 27 points and 4 assists and forward Eve Braslis (185-2000, college: Pepperdine) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Casey maintains eleventh place with 11-11 record. Loser Boomers keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Sandringham S. and Ringwood. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
