Regular Season Round 17: Waverley F. - Melbourne 96-78

Everything went according to plan in Mount Waverley where fourth ranked Falcons (16-6) beat 8th ranked Boomers (12-10) 96-78 on Saturday. Waverley F. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) who scored 29 points and 4 assists. Power forward Carley Ernst (196-1994) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Falcons players scored in double figures. Point guard Indiah Bowyer (171-2003) produced 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Eve Braslis (185-2000, college: Pepperdine) added 26 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Falcons have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Waverley F. moved-up to third place, which they share with Dandenong R. and Keilor T. Loser Boomers keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Sandringham S. and Ringwood. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
