There was an upset when 3rd placedExcellence (15-5) lost to eighth ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (11-9) in Narrabeen 77-85 on Saturday. Manly Warr. forced 23 BA CoE turnovers. American swingman Preston Purifoy (196-1992, college: UAB, agency: Players Group) nailed 19 points for the winning side and Stefan Valkovic (-2001) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. Forward Che Brogan (198-2006) came up with 22 points and guard Alexander Dickeson (191-2007) added 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for BA CoE in the defeat. Excellence's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Manly Warr. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sutherland. Loser Excellence still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Canberra B. and Illawarra H. 2.
