We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Greensborough where 6th rankedDiamond Valley Eagles (14-8) were outplayed by seventh ranked Frankston Blues (14-8) 97-64 on Sunday. Frankston B. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Diamond Valley Eagles 's 32. Frankston B. forced 24 Diamond VE turnovers and outrebounded them 35-24 including 21 on the defensive glass. Frankston B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Diamond VE 's players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Spanish guard Marta Hermida (180-1997, college: Boise St.) chipped in 22 points and 9 assists. Four Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Center Lara McSpadden (193-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Tayha Watkins added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Frankston Blues have a solid series of four victories in a row. Frankston B. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Diamond VE.
