Regular Season Round 17: Pakenham - RMIT 89-103

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Warriors (12-9) lost to sixth ranked Redbacks (12-10) in Pakenham 89-103 on Saturday. RMIT dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors's 56. RMIT looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RMIT made 9 blocks. Josh Uhr-Henry nailed 32 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Matt Spencer accounted for 8 points, 5 rebounds and 17 assists. Redbacks' coach Vincenzo Rovetto used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Cody Fredrickson (188-2000, college: Ottawa, KS) came up with 27 points and 5 assists and American center Elijah Tillman (203-1994, college: GBC) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Pakenham in the defeat. Four RMIT and five Pakenham players scored in double figures. RMIT moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Melbourne Uni. Loser Warriors keeps the fourth position with nine games lost.
