Rangers used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Cranbourne 92-81 on Saturday night. Dandenong R. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cavaliers's 42. Dandenong R. outrebounded Casey 52-39 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Joe Palmer (193-2001, college: Colorado St.) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Joe Lubarsky (-2003) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Rangers' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Kenyan forward Preston Bungei (198-1995, college: Norfolk St.) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Patrick Ryan (198-2002, college: Menlo) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rangers will meet Sandringham S. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cavaliers will play against Knox R. in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
