Regular Season Round 1: Sunbury - Warrandyte 86-97

There was an upset in Sunbury where Jets were defeated by Venom 97-86 on Sunday. American guard Lanyc Shuler (185, college: West Liberty) fired 30 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. His fellow American import guard James Legan (190-1987, college: ECU) chipped in 30 points. Milan Savic produced 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and American guard Ishmael Sanders (188-1992, college: C-N) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Four Sunbury players scored in double figures. Venom will meet at home Hume City in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jets will play against Melbourne Uni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
