Everything went according to plan in East Burwood where top-ranked Spectres (4-0) won against 13th ranked Falcons (2-2) 83-73 on Saturday. Nunawading S. made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Waverley F. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kylee Blacksten (190-2002, college: WVU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Riley Lupfer (175, college: Boise St.) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Spectres players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Madelynn Utti (181-1998, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sophia Locandro (190-2001, college: UC Irvine) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Spectres have a solid four-game winning streak. Nunawading S. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Falcons dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Nunawading S. will meet Knox R. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Waverley F. will play against Kilsyth (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
