Very expected game in Mt. Barker where 9th rankedMavericks (1-3) were defeated by fourth ranked Tigers (3-1) 91-81 on Saturday. Southern T. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mavericks 's 34 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mollie McKendrick (183-1993, college: Boston U.) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American forward Holly Forbes (178-1998, college: UT Martin) who added 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Annaliese Watkinson (175, college: Mt.St.Mary's) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Bella Schaftenaar scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Eastern M. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Southern T. moved-up to third place, which they share with Diamond VE and Eltham W. Loser Mavericks dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
