There was an upset when higher ranked Lady Braves (2-2) were smashed by seventeenth ranked Rangers (1-4) in Dandenong 88-67 on Saturday. Dandenong R. outrebounded Bendigo 46-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Imogen Rock (178) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and forward Catherine MacGregor (180-2002) accounted for 23 points. Four Rangers players scored in double figures. The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-1984) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals and forward Olivia Pollerd (190-2002, college: Santa Clara) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bendigo in the defeat. Rangers left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lady Braves dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 7 other teams. Dandenong R. will meet Frankston B. (#8) in the next round. Bendigo will play against Nunawading S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
