There was a surprise result when eleventh rankedCougars (2-3) defeated higher ranked Buccaneers (3-1) in Wonthella 87-83 on Saturday. Guard Rowan Mackenzie (190-1999, college: LCU) notched 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists to lead the effort and guard Josh Hunt (194-2002) supported him with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by naturalized American power forward Liam Hunt (201-1995, college: HIU) did not help to save the game for Geraldton B. . American swingman Devondrick Walker (194-1992, college: ETAMU) added 30 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cockburn moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Buccaneers keeps the fourth position with one game lost.
