Everything went according to plan in Pasadena where leaderSturt Sabres (8-0) edged 5th ranked Norwood Flames (3-5) 100-98 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Norwood F. outrebounded Sturt S. 53-41 including 40 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) fired 34 points (!!!) and 4 steals for the winners. Naturalized Maltese forward Joshua Tomasi (208-2000, college: St.Cloud St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Thomas Kurowski (193, college: Chicago Univ.) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Inady Legiste (201-2002, college: Lander) added 18 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Sturt Sabres . Sturt S. maintains first place with 8-0 record. Norwood F. lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Eastern M. and Cent.Coast C..
