There was a minor upset in Kalgoorlie where 6th rankedTigers (3-4) were rolled over by eighth ranked Giants (3-2) 100-64 on Saturday. Goldfields G. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers 's 36. Goldfields G. forced 19 Willetton T. turnovers and outrebounded them 51-27 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Goldfields G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Sierra Moore (180-1994, college: Penn State) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Delaynie Byrne (190-2000, college: N.Colorado) helped adding 19 points and 16 rebounds. Five Giants players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Emma Calvert (193-2002, college: BYU) responded with 22 points and Samoan Jalyn Newton-Taito (183-2010) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goldfields G. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sutherland and Mandurah. Loser Tigers dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
